The Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Katharine Jefferts Schori, talks with Keith Josey and Ben Blanchard of the Mission of the Holy Spirit at the 2009 General Convention. The Mission of the Holy Spirit is a collaborative effort of a group of individuals, businesses, churches and the Diocese of Southern Virginia. Our vision is to offer spiritual, educational, and psychosocial services to at-risk, inner-city children, adolescents, and their families.
Through Mission programs, many individuals who struggle with social, economic and family dysfunction are able to find hope, set goals, and change their lives.
These changes begin by receiving the proclaimed Gospel of Jesus Christ in numerous ways -- from puppet shows, story telling, or games with our children to Sunday afternoon worship, which is largely planned and conducted by the youths themselves.
We invite and encourage you to become partners with the Mission. Your support will enable more people to experience God's grace and love for them.
